About Me

A little bit about me as a person.

Jack of all trades, master of none, but better than a master of one: true to my name, I consider myself to be a Jack of all trades. All my life I have prioritized breadth, rather than depth when it comes to the pursuit of knowledge and experience. I am currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, though at 28 years old in my junior year, I have not taken a traditional approach. My formal education started in earnest in 2018(????) and has been interspersed with work and other beneficial experiences. As of 2020 I changed my focus to pursuing my degree full time.

Personal Interests: I enjoy almost anything that I can do outside, including hiking, skiing/snowboarding, bouldering, running, and sailing, just to name a few things. I have a 7 year old lab who is a frequent copilot on these outdoor adventures. I have also started learning to appreciate traveling and experiencing new places and cultures, and I hope to do more in the future. I am a lifelong tinkerer, so I always have some sort of personal project (link to projects page?) occupying my free time.

Professional interests and goals: Sustainability and environmental responsibility are important to me; no matter where I end up, or what work I am doing, I want to know that I am with people who share this priority. I would be excited for any opportunity that allows me to realize that while working with a diverse team, focused on practical solutions to realistic problems. I am interested in things such as electric vehicle technology, composite material part design as well as recycling, sustainable energy infrastructure, bio-waste composting, and the like. Someday I hope to settle down and build a family, but until then my goal is to find the most interesting work I can do, with the most interesting people, in the most interesting place, and do my best to make a positive impact.

I encourage you to take a look through this online CV, which details my projects and experience. Feel free to get in contact with me if you have any questions or comments.

Sincerely,

Jackson
